Who we are
Imber Court Photo Training is run by photography trainer Ashley Gardner. The company was created in 2009 with the aim of providing photography courses to those just starting out in photography and also for those experienced photographers looking for photography courses within their specialist field.
Ashley, who set up the photography training business after retiring from the Metropolitan Police after thirty years service as a surveillance officer specialising in photography. He has a passion for inspiring new photographers to become creative and help them understand how to use a DSLR or mirrorless camera to achieve excellent results. Ashley will share his skills and experience as a photography trainer to provide training to photographers of all levels, all abilities and all ages. Keeping their group sizes small and prices affordable, Imber Court Photo Training provides photography courses to suit everyone.
Members of the Institute for Learning and the UK Trading Standards Buy with Confidence scheme, our professional photography trainers will inspire you to become confident and creative in all aspects of digital photography. Imber Court Photo Training passionately believes that in order to become proficient with your DSLR or Bridge Camera and achieve excellent results, some form of photography training is essential. We provide that training for you, with clear, constructive teaching and a passion for our subject that we hope to pass on to our clients.
Where are we
We welcome you to join us at Chichester Harbour in Chichester Yacht Club, West Sussex, where we are located right in the centre of this area of outstanding natural beauty with fantastic locations and views right on our doorstep.We have a fully equipped classroom which can be reached by those travelling from London and Surrey in an hour via the A3.
We also run photography courses in Surrey at the beautiful Painshill Park near Cobham which is a photographers paradise with beautiful landscapes and mystical follies. An excellent location for attending a photography course. Courses are also held at the Met Police premises at Imber Court near Esher, Surrey.
Photography Courses
Catering for photographers of all levels, our courses are available for those who are just starting to explore photography through to more advanced and adept photographers.
Age and ability are not a problem either, our customers range from 14 to 82 and we are able to cater for wheelchair users. Our photography trainers also have enhanced CRB/DBS certificates and are members of the West Sussex Trading Standards ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme.
Our Beginners’ Photography Course in Surrey or Sussex will guide you through the various camera controls, including aperture and shutter speed settings and the effect that these have on images. During this course we will also look at ISO, white balance and exposure compensation. Photography trainer Ashley will share some of his tricks and methods to shoot professional looking portraits and landscapes. You will also be shown how to download and enhance your images and subsequently, you will learn how to prepare your images for printing. All of our photography courses are delivered in a friendly relaxed environment in plain English!
For the more experienced photographer, we provide workshops in various subjects including Low Light Photography courses, Studio Portraits & Lighting courses, Starting Your Own Wedding and Portrait Photography Business courses and one day Landscape, Seascape and Outdoor Portrait courses.
Unlike many companies when you finish your course with Imber Court Photo Training they are always available to offer free unbiased advice in all aspects of your photography.
Photography Holidays
Our photography holiday courses are available in some special locations including Northern Spain, Iceland and India are open to photographers of all levels.
